    The steps to resolve QuickBooks error code 111 involve use of QuickBooks data recovery. This feature is included in QuickBooks 2011 R6 and QuickBooks 2010 R12, but they are only available in the Pro and Premier versions. The steps to be followed are as follows:
    • The auto data recovery feature does some internal diagnostics on the file
    • In case the file opens and passes the test, the program takes it as a good file and then a backup copy is made into the ADR folder
    • Now, the ADR transaction log program will craft invoices for all the transaction that are added to the file from that point of time in QuickBooks
    • The QuickBooks software will create a copy of the file and in case application is opened, then a backup will not be prepared
    • It should be noted that there will be two backups copied one is for 12 hours old, whereas the other will be 24 hours old
    • At the end, the .old file will be deleted in the meantime.
